Docents are specially trained educational volunteers who interpret the cultural, natural and recreational resources of the Preserves for visitors. Docents are required to attend training sessions to provide a foundation for interpreting the resources of the Preserve where they volunteer. Ongoing enrichment programs will be available throughout the year.

Preserve hosts provide an important function as representative of the Preserve staff. They encourage compliance with Preserve rules, act as docents and man the Visitor’s Center(s), help maintain bathrooms and grounds, conduct tours or guided hikes and generally serve as information central and vigilance on-site.
