Why Become a Trail Steward?

Want to get some great exercise while enjoying the beauty of the Coachella Valley Preserve? Looking for an opportunity to improve the Preserve's trails and open space while making everyones' visit to the preserve more enjoyable?  Then come spend a few hours with other volunteers and Preserve staff to learn what makes a good trail better, and begin putting that knowledge to great use.

Look below for a full description of the program and examples of the projects Trail Stewards will undertake. Your volunteer efforts will be greatly appreciated. Most trail projects are a joint effort between CNLM, BLM, the Desert Trails Hiking Club, the Coachella Valley Hiking Club and the Friends of the Desert Mountains.

Contact us at 760-343-2733 for information and to find out if any projects are currently planned.
